Transcripts will not be issued for any student who has overdue financial obligations to the College of Charleston.

Our Timeline
All transcript requests must be received in writing at least two weeks before a required deadline.

TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS

Unofficial transcripts of student records while in attendance at the College are available at no cost for most students via our online services on Cougar Trail. Log in as a student to see your student records. You will use your CofC ID # and your pin #.

Official, sealed transcripts may be requested using three different methods:
 

1. The online transcript request found on Cougar Trail allows you to order both graduate and undergraduate transcripts at a cost of $8.00 per copy. Fed-Ex is available to expedite mailing for an additional fee. Payment can be made online by credit/debit card. A Signature Release Form MUST also be received by the College by fax, mail, scanned attachment to an email, or in person before your transcript can be released. Your transcript will normally be mailed in two to five business days after we receive the request if you have no financial or administrative obligations to the College. Please plan ahead for the additional time required for postal services. Please note: the Office of the Registrar will not process any transcript requests from students who have an outstanding balance or unfulfilled obligation to the College. Transcript holds will be honored. You can check your records on Cougar Trail for possible records holds.

2. By mail. Please fill out the attached printable Transcript Request Form and mail with BOTH a copy of your driver’s license or other official ID and an enclosed personal check payable to “The College of Charleston”. Do NOT include credit/debit card information.

3. In person. Online request can be made in the Registrar’s Office with online payment by credit/debit card. Hand-written requests are accepted with a picture ID and payment by personal check. Cash & credit/debit card payments are not accepted by the Registrar’s Office but can be made first at the Treasurer’s Office and the receipt provided with the transcript request to the Registrar’s Office. Transcript requests for pick-up must be submitted in person and your picture ID will be required. Requests for pick up are processed immediately and are usually available in five to ten minutes.

The College of Charleston, in the effort to comply with newer federal guidelines and protect both the students’ credit card information and the students’ records, no longer accepts faxed transcript requests or faxed credit/debit card numbers. Hand-written requests must be accompanied by verification of identity.
