If your PIN number has become disabled there are three ways in which you can have it reset.
1. If you set up the PIN Question and Answer, simply click "I Forgot My PIN" on the Cougar Trail login page. Note: when you are prompted to enter your PIN answer, you must enter it exactly as you set it up. It is case sensitive.
2. You can request a PIN
reset via email. The request must be sent from your official College of Charleston email account to CTHelp_Stu@CofC.edu for students and CTHelp_Fac@CofC.edu for faculty. In the e-mail request please list your Name, Social
Security Number, and date of birth. It is policy
that all currently enrolled students
obtain and use an official College of Charleston e-mail account for academic purposes. To obtain your official College of Charleston email address, log in to Cougar Trail. Go to "Set Your Cougars Password". Further
information about your email
account is available on-line.
3. Stop by the Registrar's Office with a vaild picture ID.
Troubleshooting:
If you have never used Cougar Trail, your CofC ID will be your Social Security Number and your PIN will be your 6 digit birth date (MMDDYY). Example:
July 12, 1978 would be entered as 071278.
Once your birth date is entered and you click login, Cougar Trail will prompt you to change your PIN from
your birth date. For security reasons, the College of Charleston will not allow the use of the
birth date as a PIN number.
After 3 incorrect login attempts, Cougar Trail disables your PIN for an hour. After an hour you
can then retry to enter your PIN number.
